The release of the Spirit | Diet 12

RELAUNCH AND RETREATING (Cont'd)

Now let us consider an extreme case to illustrate this. Anger is the most. violent of human feelings. But the Bible does not forbid us to be angry, for some anger is not related to sin. "Be angry but sin not," the Bible says. Nonetheless, anger of any kind is so strong it borders on sin. We do not find "Love but do not sin" nor "Be meek but do not sin" in God's word, because love and meekness are far removed from sin. But anger is close to sin.

Perhaps a certain brother has committed a serious fault. He needs to be severely reprimanded. This is not an easy matter. Rather would we exercise our feelings of mercy than bring our feelings of anger into play, for the latter can fall into something else with the least carelessness. Thus it is not easy to be properly angry according to the will of God. However, one who knows the breaking of the outward man can deal severely with another brother without his own spirit being disturbed or God's presence interrupted. He abides in God just as much in dealing with others as in prayer. Thus, after he has taken his brother to task, he can pray without any endeavor to retreat to God. We acknowledge that this is rather difficult; yet when the outward man is broken, such can well be the case.

The outward man need to be broken, then emotion will not be the drive again, but the Spirit of God, leading us to doing God's pleasure. Amen!

Abraham: Faith under siege | Diet 9

Faith raises a son to believe Abraham stayed close to Isaac. We have no record of him permitting the boy to visit Lot and his family in the glamorous city of Sodom, not one time. He did not feel that his son had to climb the social ladder in Sodom. If he had gone down there he would  probably have married one of Lot's daughters. Raising a son with the right people, that is faith.  Isaac stood by the altars of Abraham and watched God move in his father's life and said, "That's the religion I want, just like daddy's." Most of us never identify faith when it comes to raising a family. I am sure it is a great part of training any family. It will not work in the pulpit if it does not work at your house. Lots of people only want pulpit faith, but God is looking at your bedroom; He knows all about what is going on behind closed doors. Abraham did not send Isaac to the learned, liberated university of Sodom. He did not study chemistry in the classes of Gomorrah wh...
