How the Living Word Divides

"The Bible is alive and active, cutting through everything it comes in contact with; soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intentions of the heart. It is also sharper than any two-edged sword. There is nothing hidden from his view, and everything is exposed to his eyes, with whom we must deal " (Heb. 4:12,13). The fact that God's word is alive should be noted first. When we see His word, we know it is alive. We simply failed to recognize God's word if we do not find it to be alive.

God's word is not only alive, but it also has power. "Living" refers to its character, while "operational" describes its capacity to carry out the task on man. God's word is infallible; it will hold true and fulfil its intent. Not just any word will do; this word will act in a way that brings about change.

So what does God's word do for us? It splits and penetrates. It is a two-edged blade, but sharper. Its ability to "penetrate to the division of soul and spirit, both of joints and marrow," demonstrates its sharpness. The two-edged sword is comparable to the soul and spirit, and the word of God is comparable to the joints and marrow. The human body has several deeply embedded joints and marrow. Cutting through the bones to split the joints is the same as breaking them open to divide the marrow. The soul and spirit are the only two things that are more difficult to split than the joints and marrow. Even the sharpest blade cannot separate them. Similar to this, we have no way of telling what is the spirit from what is the soul. However, the Bible explains how the live word of God can do the task because it is more keen than any two-edged weapon. The power of God's word to permeate and divide

Maybe someone will ask the following query: "The Bible doesn't seem to have had any particularly exceptional effects on me. Although I frequently hear God's voice and have even gotten revelation, I have no idea what piercing or this division is. As far as I can tell, neither of these procedures are unfamiliar to me." What does the Bible say in response to this query? It also states that it is "a discerner of the thoughts and purposes of the heart," in addition to "piercing to the division of soul and spirit, both of joints and marrow." Our internal deliberations are referred to as "thoughts," and our motivations are referred to as "intentions." As a result, the Bible can tell what we think as well as what drives our thoughts.

You formerly claimed to love the Lord, but after seeing things in God's light, you realize that you actually love yourself more. You are indeed divided and separated by this light. You are internally divided by God's light, not by your mindset or by simple instruction. You once claimed to have a zeal for the Lord, but now that you have access to God's light, you can see that your zeal was entirely inspired by your own flesh and blood. When preaching the gospel, you may have believed that you had a love for sinners, but now that you have seen the light, you realize that your primary motivations are your desire to take action, your joy in speaking, and your innate propensity. Your heart's intention and idea are more clearly seen the brighter this holy light shines. Your ideas and intentions were once supposed to be those of the Lord, but now that you see them in this cutting light, you realize they are solely your own. Such illumination humbles you before God.

This is why God declares, "My word is both effective and alive. The sharpest sword is the one I have. Similar to how a two-edged blade may cut through joints and marrow, My word has the power to split man's soul and spirit when it enters his life "

It divides in what way? by showing what our hearts' desires and thoughts are. Our own hearts are unknown to us. Only those who are in the light, beloved, are aware of their own hearts. Absolutely no one else does! But when God speaks, we "see." We are shown to be egocentric, desiring only our own satisfaction, glory, preeminence, and reputation. What a blessing it is when His light moves us to prostrate ourselves at His feet, by now our true state is revealed by His light.

Abraham: Faith under siege | Diet 9

Faith raises a son to believe Abraham stayed close to Isaac. We have no record of him permitting the boy to visit Lot and his family in the glamorous city of Sodom, not one time. He did not feel that his son had to climb the social ladder in Sodom. If he had gone down there he would  probably have married one of Lot's daughters. Raising a son with the right people, that is faith.  Isaac stood by the altars of Abraham and watched God move in his father's life and said, "That's the religion I want, just like daddy's." Most of us never identify faith when it comes to raising a family. I am sure it is a great part of training any family. It will not work in the pulpit if it does not work at your house. Lots of people only want pulpit faith, but God is looking at your bedroom; He knows all about what is going on behind closed doors. Abraham did not send Isaac to the learned, liberated university of Sodom. He did not study chemistry in the classes of Gomorrah wh...
